As a previous user of Titanium Studio, I just installed Appcelerator Studio 4.0.0 and cannot use it since the Dashboard says "Server Currently Unavailable, please try again later". Any help would be great, so that I can use the product. The only thing I did that was maybe out of the norm was to specify, upon installation, that my workspace should be located/saved in my Dropbox folder.

Same here - after all the hype Appcelerator Studio is currently useless, so feeling a bit let down. Over promising - under delivering?

    OSX 10.10.2
    Studio: 4.0.0.201504021909

Would be grateful if someone from Appcelerator could provide some assistance - or at least let us all know you have the problem in hand.

  • @paulhollyer.me.uk can you post your studio log as well? Do you have any particular DNS settings or behind a proxy? We're seeing this very randomly so far, and would appreciate any more details you may be able to provide.

    Thank you!

  • @paulhollyer.me.uk - Also - could you try and hit appc-test.appcelerator.com in a browser and let us know if you see errors as well?

  • @Radamantis I had the same version of Appcelerator Studio as everyone above (...1909) but I just saw that there was an update, so I installed. No luck, I still get the error. My current version is 4.0.0.201504101208. Note: I also have Titanium Studio installed and the dashboard there works fine. OS is OSX 10.9.5, MacBook Pro. My java version is:

    java version "1.6.0_65"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_65-b14-462-11M4609)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.65-b04-462, mixed mode)

  • @everyone If your experiencing this issue please try again. We've made some changes to our proxy that should help address this issues. The issue is not with Studio - but how some DNSs are adressing some certs.

  • @grantges The problem still exist :(

  • I'm still getting this issue too!

    2015, April 13th by Gurmukh
  • @e3789a66-42c0-4ccd-a622-4db70f19b732 We found the cause of the issue to be Java 6. Please update to Java 8 and make sure you install the full JDK, not just the runtime.

    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html

We'll be updating the minimum requirements for Studio.

  • @Fokke Hey, it works now! Thanks.

    2015, April 13th by e3789a66-42c0-4ccd-a622-4db70f19b732
  • @Fokke Does this also apply to Titanium Studio? The minimum requirements are now Java 8? I have the broken Appcelerator Studio because Java 6 and its full JDK are installed. Ti Studio works fine. If I update to Java will that break Ti Studio or shouldn't I have both Studios installed at the same time?
